Currently, Jofaba.com is an archive of gaming news. There is no new game-related news as of January 1st, 2007. Once I get the proper motivation, I will relaunch Jofaba.com as primarily focusing on my writing. There will be some game related content, though I'm not yet sure how extensive it will be. - JFBartalomy

Beating The Game - Article/Parody

OCT

I got the writer's twitch this morning and threw together a (hopefully) funny, short, article. It's hosted in my sub-domain "Joe Twelve Pack". Click and enjoy.

How To Simulate A Successful And Fulfilling Life

Well that wasn't good. If you visited at all over the past 5 days then you were probably a little confused about Jofaba.com's new direction. No, I did not sell the site and no, I'm not switching from writing and game-related content to trying my hand in Home Repair.

It was really just a stupid mistake that VERY luckily was easy to fix. I'm hosting my father's buisness website in a sub-domain and accidentally (read "drunkenly") uploaded his "Coming Soon" index page to mine. I okay'd the overwrite because I had something else in his domain earlier so I was expecting to be overwriting a file anyway.

Luckily, the index.php file from a newer version of Drupal works. It's like magic. To me at least. I don't understand php scripting at all, and would have had no idea how to rebuild the site. Seriously, I have NO IDEA HOW THIS SITE WORKS. That's probably not a good thing to tell people, right?

Anyway, the magic that is php has been restored and hopefully there's no compatibility issues between the page that used to be here, and the one that comes bundled with the newer version of Drupal. If you experience any problems I appologize, but I am a moron and thus must be forgiven.

Halo 3: What do you think?

SEPT
25th

I picked up my copy of Halo 3 today, a second 360 controller, and a friend from work came over and helped break in my second XBOX title. Yeah, I'm a noob. Just got the console, and both of us have limited history with the Halo series.

So... it's fun. It's not fantastic. I haven't played it full screen yet (co-op crops a widescreen tv to 4:3 ratio then splits it horizontally), but already I am disappointed with the aliasing and graphics. My first (and only game to date) was GOW and maybe that's my fault when using it as a comparison, but my high expectations aside, it's still a fun game. Cool weapons, and kills are satisfying. I'm still getting used to how co-op works (the times we helped each other were sort of by accident) but I look forward to beating it tomorrow (hopefully!) with my friend, then going into the single player mode alone at full screen. Then once I beat that, trying my hand at some online action. I know that online will be a COMPLETELY different experience.

Still... I come from Battlefield 2 on the PC, and I expect a lot from multiplayer fps. I have a feeling that Halo 3 won't deliver, but I'm more curious what seasoned Halo 3 and 360 FPS gamers think than some noob who just got the system (ie, me). So, you've had the game for a little over 20 hours. Most of you have probably beat the game. Twice. What do you think? Is it a fantastic 360 game? Is it worth the buy if you're not a die hard fan of the series?

And please, no spoilers. I haven't finished it yet!
